Questions this episode answers

What is the Zerg 4 Pool and when is it used?

The 4 Pool is the most aggressive rush in StarCraft: Zerg builds the Spawning Pool right at 4/9 supply without making a single new Drone. It aims to catch the opponent completely unprepared with six very early Zerglings, but if it is held, the Zerg is left with a crippled economy.

How does Protoss best defend an early Zergling rush (4 Pool or 7 Pool)?

Start a Forge at your entrance immediately and build a Photon Cannon. To protect the unfinished Cannon from the Zerglings, put Probes around it on Hold PositionHold PositionA command that keeps a unit in place: it attacks what comes into range but doesn't chase. as a living shield.

What is an Infested Terran and how do you get one?

The Infested Terran is a suicide unit that explodes for a massive 500 explosive splash damage to nearby units and buildings.

Full summary

Episode 20, a jubilee episode, is about strategies in which the workers of each race play the key role: how SCVs, Probes and Drones differ, how they attack and defend, and how a few unusual abilities and Nydus Canals turn games around. It is for beginners and intermediate players who want to learn how to run and stop the 4 Pool and 7 Pool rushes, and how to use some of the most destructive abilities in the game.

Grast starts with the differences between the three workers (SCV, Probe, Drone) and demonstrates a 4 Pool Zergling rush, with detailed advice for Protoss on stopping it by placing a Forge and Gateway well and body-blocking with Probes. Three classic games illustrate the theory: the Terran Casi beating an early JulyZerg attack with Firebats and Medics on Reverse Temple; a dramatic JulyZerg vs Best game on Troy, a map with gas buildings blocking its paths; and a top-level PvZ in which Zero infests a Command Center with a Queen and uses Infested Terrans, 500 damage each, to break the Protoss army of Snow despite his Psionic StormsPsionic StormA High Templar spell: a storm that deals 112 damage over a few seconds to every unit in the area, your own included. and Corsairs.

The second part is about Nydus Canals used in ways nobody expects: in a 2018 game, Action opens a Nydus straight into Light's base and walks Lurkers and Defilers with Dark Swarm up the Terran's ramp, a move the commentators had never seen in 20 years of Brood War.

The episode ends with a live game on Fighting Spirit and a preview of the series' final episodes, on 2v2 and on Brood War's illegal bugs.
